Greg Fischer gets ear enlargement to 'hear you' better amid Louisville protests
Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer wants protesters to know he can hear them, and their concerns regarding police violence and racism, loud and clear thanks to his recent ear enlargement surgery.
“I hear you,” Fischer said to a crowd of protesters who have taken to the streets for over two weeks demanding justice for the killings of Breonna Taylor and David McAtee at the hands of law enforcement. “And you can tell I really hear you because my ears are just massive.”
Confronted by protesters and activists about Fischer’s lack of concrete action as it relates to the current moment, how the cops who shot and killed Breonna Taylor have faced practically zero consequences and Fischer’s own culpability in the National Guard shooting and killing David McAtee, Fischer nodded along as protesters began questioning his leadership and willingness to make anything even remotely better.
“I hear you, I hear you completely,” Fischer said, his comically large ears buoying in agreement. “I hear you, but my hands as a mayor are completely tied, so I guess that’s that.”
When met by protester’s demands of defunding the Louisville Metro Police Department and being proactive in doing something, nay anything, about the three LMPD officers responsible in Taylor’s death, Fischer continued his refrain of “I hear you, hmmm yes very good point, I’ll look into that. Okay bye bye.”
At the time of press, Fischer was seen walking back into city hall attempting to plug his very, very big ears to drown out having to hear anyone else.
