Kentucky State Police add Himmler quotes for cadet training to balance out Hitler quotes
In an effort to retrain current state police troopers, and looking toward training its new cadets, the Kentucky State Police has decided to incorporate quotes and ideological perspectives from Heinrich Himmler, a main architect of the Holocaust and commander of the Schutzstaffel, in the organization’s training materials.
Until 2013 (allegedly), KSP was utilizing a training slideshow urging cadets to be “ruthless killer[s]” and quoted Adolf Hitler three separate times. The slideshow encourages cadets to adopt a “warrior mindset” and for officers to be “ruthless killer[s],” have “a mindset void of emotion” and to “meet violence with greater violence.”
Seeing the obvious error of their ways, the state police has decided it’s only fair to show another perspective of the Holocaust and hear from another man with a “warrior mindset” to train the police force in a way that’s sure not to use outright violence on minorities, dissidents and the larger public.
“Did we quote Adolf Hitler three times in a state police training that was used up until 2013? Absolutley we did, and what seems to be the problem with that?” KSP Sgt. Tom Kirkland told reporters outside police headquarters in Frankfort as a gigantic “Thin Blue Line” flag waved in the wind behind him.
“Those things that Hitler guy said are very applicable to what we do today in law enforcement; ya know things like service, selflessness, equality, reigning down terror and violence upon people,” Kirkland continued. “And we think this Himmler guy will also provide some great perspectives for our new cadets.”
Himmler, who famously has some of the following quotes attributed to him,
“It is vital we rid ourselves of [homosexuals]; like weed we must pull them up, throw them on the fire and burn them,”
“We won't waste much time on the Jews. It's great to get to grips with the Jewish race at last. The more that die the better; hitting them represents a victory for our Reich”
“One basic principle must be the absolute rule for the S.S. men. We must be honest, decent, loyal, and comradely to members of our own blood and nobody else,”
could not be reached for comment as he killed himself in 1945.
